Ethics Complaints and Appeals Process

Al-Turāth al-Adabi follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines regarding appeals to journal editorial decisions and complaints about the editorial management of the peer-review process.

If you wish to appeal a decision made by the journal’s editor, please submit an appeal letter to the journal’s online editorial office. The letter should be addressed to the Editor and must clearly explain the basis of your appeal. Your appeal should include the following:

  1. Explanation of disagreement: Provide detailed reasons why you disagree with the editorial decision. Include specific responses to the comments or evaluations made by the editor and/or reviewers that led to the rejection or decision in question.
  2. New information or data: Present any new evidence, data, or clarification that you believe should be considered in the editorial reassessment.
  3. Reviewer errors: If you believe that a reviewer made a technical or factual error in evaluating your manuscript, provide clear and verifiable evidence supporting this claim.
  4. Conflict of interest: Include evidence if you believe that a reviewer or editor may have had a conflict of interest that influenced the decision.

All appeals and complaints will be handled objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with COPE and HEC ethical guidelines.
