The novel has a gravity to be one of the modern literary arts. It dates back to Europe more than thirty years ago, and in the Arab world fifteen years ago. The first Arab novels appeared in 1867 AD under the influence of the factors of nostalgia, magnetism and leaned on the West. The development of life in many aspects, religious and social norms, political and cultural values were the major themes to be dealt by Arab novel but it is worth mentioning that there were huge significant changes in flourishing and expantion for the sake of reciprocation of Arabs and the West through scientific missions, writing, translation, and the diversity of foreign conferences from French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, and multiple travels. Subsequently, it led to the Arabs being influenced by the West and became a renaissance of Arab civilization integrated with Western culture. The art of the novel is a reverberation of the Arabs being influenced by the West. in this study, the researcher dealt with the concept of novels, their classification and elements, the inception of the novel among Arabs and the West, and the influence of the Arab novel by Westernism and simultaneously manifestation of the relationship . In this brief article, we will talk about the emergence of the Arab and Western novel, a descriptive study. The article is divided into the following Chapters:
Chapter One: The concept of novels, their types and elements
Chapter Two: The emergence of the novel among Arabs and the West
Chapter Three: The influence of the Arab novel on the Western novel
Chapter Four: The influence of Western novelists on Arab novelists and the relationship between them
