A Morphological Study of the Story of Prophet Sulayman (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Hoopoe in the Light of Psycholinguistics

This research paper encompasses a morphological study of the Qur’anic story of Prophet Sulayman (peace be upon him) and the hoopoe, viewed through the lens of psycholinguistics. The study investigates the interrelation between morphological structure and psychological meaning in Qur’anic discourse, focusing particularly on the augmented triliteral verb forms and their semantic and emotive implications. Adopting a descriptive-analytical methodology grounded in Arabic morphology and psycholinguistic theory, the research classifies and analyzes the morphological patterns occurring within this story, tracing their frequency, contextual variation, and psychological resonance. The analysis reveals that Qur’anic morphology operates not merely as a grammatical mechanism but as an artistic and affective tool that evokes emotions such as amazement, mercy, affirmation, and divine warning. The study demonstrates how morphological patterns in the Qur’an function to intensify the emotive power of divine speech and to embody theological concepts such as monotheism and divine justice.
