The Story of Solomon (PBUH) and the Hoopoe in the Light of Psycholinguistics (A Phonetic Study)

This study presents a psycho-phonetic analysis of the story of Solomon (peace be upon him) and the hoopoe, as narrated in the Holy Qur’an. It draws upon the field of psycholinguistics, which explores the connection between language and human emotions, and examines how sounds contribute to the expression of feelings and psychological connotations.

The research aims to analyze the phonetic structure of the Qur’anic narrative in this particular episode by classifying consonant sounds, tracing their frequency and significance in context, and seeking to understand the psychological impact they produce in terms of meaning and emotional resonance. The study highlights how Qur’anic discourse employs sound as both an aesthetic and psychological tool to convey emotions such as anger, astonishment, affirmation, warning, mercy, and monotheism, along with other interwoven feelings masterfully expressed through a rich soundscape.
