الملخص

This paper comprehends the life and poetic works of the renowned Egyptian Sufi poet, Omar bin al-Faridh. This research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the man behind this legacy and the principles that shaped his enduring art. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical and historical-biographical approach. It draws upon a range of historical records, literary sources, and critical analyses to construct a detailed account of Ibn al-Faridh's life and to interpret the thematic depth of his work. The study systematically traces four pivotal stages of his life to connect his personal experiences with his artistic and spiritual development. The findings present a detailed historical account of Ibn al-Faridh's life, clarifying uncertainties such as his date of birth and family background. The analysis identifies the transformative events and moral values that shaped his spiritual path, establishing a clear link between his personal journey and his poetic themes. The study underscores the need to appreciate Ibn al-Faridh's work as both a literary masterpiece and a profound spiritual treatise. It suggests that future research could benefit from a more focused thematic analysis of individual poems or a comparative study with other Sufi poets to further elucidate his unique contribution to the genre.
