الملخص

This study examines the features of Sufi discourse in the poetry of Ibrahim al-Desouki through a linguistic and stylistic analytical approach. It begins with an introduction that outlines the historical development of Islamic Sufism and its transformation into a comprehensive discourse combining spiritual, ethical, and social dimensions, highlighting al-Desouki’s prominent position within this tradition.

The first section analyzes the manifestations of the Sufi experience in his poetry, focusing on key concepts such as divine manifestation, annihilation (fanā’) and union, divine love, and inner knowledge (kashf). It demonstrates how these concepts are transformed into poetic structures characterized by symbolism, suggestion, and semantic paradox.

The second section explores the linguistic and stylistic features of his poetry, including semantic fields of Sufi vocabulary, repetition as a tool of semantic intensification, and rhetorical and symbolic imagery that shape the poetic discourse. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical method based on selected poetic examples within their Sufi context.

The study concludes that al-Desouki’s poetry represents a coherent model of Sufi discourse in which language and spiritual experience are deeply intertwined, and stylistic expression becomes a means of revealing inner meaning, thus producing a distinctive aesthetic and semantic depth.
